Miyu Yamashita wins CPKC Women’s Open by nine strokes

Japanese golfer Miyu Yamashita secured a dominant wire-to-wire victory at the CPKC Women’s Open in Edmonton, Alberta. Playing at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club, Yamashita finished with a total of 23-under 257, matching the LPGA Tour’s 72-hole scoring record previously set by Sei Young Kim in 2018.

Yamashita’s performance was characterized by extreme precision, opening with a course-record 62 and maintaining a significant lead throughout the tournament. She finished nine strokes ahead of runner-up Yuri Yoshida, who ended at 14-under par. South Korean veteran Sei Young Kim took third place at 13-under.

This victory marks Yamashita’s fourth LPGA Tour title, achieved in four different countries. The win also establishes a new tournament record for the CPKC Women’s Open, surpassing the previous mark of 262 set by Jin Young Ko in 2019. The win moves Yamashita to third in the LPGA money rankings.
