Wyndham Hotels & Resorts posts solid Q2 earnings, record pipeline growth
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts reported a strong second quarter, with U.S. RevPAR rising 2% to $54.50 and net income increasing 17% to $102 million. Adjusted EBITDA grew 9% to $212 million and adjusted diluted EPS reached $1.48. The company opened nearly 18,000 rooms in the quarter, bringing its global pipeline to a record 261,000 rooms across more than 2,200 hotels, about 70% of which are in the midscale‑and‑above segments.
Domestic demand was led by Texas, California and Florida, which together account for a quarter of Wyndham’s U.S. room count, and the industrial Midwest saw RevPAR gains of up to 10% in states such as Illinois and Indiana. International RevPAR fell 6%, causing global RevPAR to dip 1%.
CEO Geoff Ballotti, who is undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma, expressed optimism about the company’s outlook. Wyndham also returned $86 million to shareholders via share buybacks and paid a quarterly dividend of $0.43 per share.
