Wynonna Judd releases personal new album amid family rifts
Country singer Wynonna Judd is releasing her first album in a decade, titled ‘The Hard Truth’. The project is described as her most personal and vulnerable work, exploring themes of loss, family complexity, and identity.
Judd has shared that the album addresses her complicated relationship with her late mother, Naomi Judd, who died by suicide in 2022. One track, ‘Girl Who Could Sing’, touches on the loss of her biological father, Charles Jordan, who passed away shortly before they were scheduled to meet.
Additionally, Wynonna revealed a current rift with her sister, actress Ashley Judd. Describing their status as ‘taking a break’, Wynonna noted that the sisters are not currently ‘connected’ and that Ashley has not yet heard the new album. The singer emphasized that the distance is not due to any specific conflict but is a matter of each individual following their own path.
