Wynonna Judd defends music-focused approach to live performances
Country music veteran Wynonna Judd has addressed the debate regarding entertainers sharing political or controversial views during live performances. Judd stated that her primary responsibility on stage is to entertain and provide a positive experience for fans who have paid for tickets.
Judd commented on recent controversy involving Kacey Musgraves, who referred to Christopher Columbus as a “loser” during a Dallas concert. While Judd acknowledged that Musgraves has the right to speak her mind, she noted that such comments do not necessarily belong in a concert setting. Judd emphasized that her goal is to share her musical gift so that audiences “go home feeling better than they did when they got there.”
Additionally, Judd clarified her own political stance following comments by Rosie O’Donnell, who had previously characterized her as a Trump supporter. Judd described herself as an independent and explained that her willingness to perform in various political settings is rooted in patriotism rather than party allegiance.
