Wyoming Cowboys Kick Off Fall Football Camp in Laramie

The University of Wyoming Cowboys football team opened its fall camp on Wednesday at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. Head coach Jay Sawvel, in his third year, led the first of 24 practices as the team prepares for a season that begins on Sept. 5 at Colorado State.

Running back Samuel “Tote” Harris was added to the Maxwell Football Club’s watch list for the 90th Maxwell Award, marking his first appearance. Harris, Wyoming’s leading rusher last season, posted 558 yards on 100 carries (5.6 ypc) and added 184 receiving yards on 16 catches.

The Cowboys’ schedule includes home games against Northern Colorado (Sept. 12), Hawai‘i (Sept. 26), Northern Illinois (Oct. 17), Air Force (Oct. 23) and New Mexico (Nov. 20).
