Wyoming financial summits focus on Federal Reserve and digital asset integration

Financial markets are closely monitoring the Jackson Hole symposium in Wyoming, which features the first public intervention by Federal Reserve President Kevin Ward. The event follows July meeting minutes that indicated a more restrictive monetary policy than markets had anticipated. Recent U.S. Treasury actions against the interest rate curve have contributed to a shift in market dynamics, leading gold and silver to break their previous downward trends.

Separately, at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould addressed the integration of digital assets within the banking sector. Gould stated that “crypto is part of the business of banking,” noting that 23 of the 40 new-bank charter applications received by the OCC in the last 18 months incorporate digital assets. He criticized previous strategies aimed at shielding the banking system from blockchain technology as “extremely shortsighted,” signaling a shift toward embracing innovative technological developments within a safe regulatory framework.
