Wyoming high school sports: football standings and cross country championships

Wyoming high school athletics are progressing through key seasonal milestones. In football, seven weeks of the 2026 prep season have concluded. Several teams have secured top seeds for their respective playoffs, including Natrona County, Riverton, Big Horn, Cokeville, Pine Bluffs, Burlington, and Casper Christian.

Currently, four teams remain undefeated in the season: the Grizzlies, Big Horn, Casper Christian, and Natrona County. In the Class 1A 9-man division, Saratoga’s loss to Rocky Mountain reduced the number of unbeaten teams.

In cross country, the 2026 State Championships are scheduled to take place in Cheyenne at the Little America Golf Course. The event features several returning champions, including Lyla Marney of Big Horn, who is seeking a third consecutive title in the Class 2A girls' division, and Maggie Madsen of Cheyenne East, who is pursuing a third straight title in the Class 4A girls' division.
