Wyoming proposes $48 million in energy project grants

The Wyoming Energy Authority has recommended $48 million in grants from the state’s Energy Dominance Fund to three specific energy projects. The recommendations are currently awaiting public comment until November 16 before being forwarded to Governor Mark Gordon for final approval.

The proposed allocations include:

• $20 million to Nucleon Fuel for a uranium conversion facility in Campbell County intended to produce uranium hexafluoride. • $15 million to Williams Companies for the Flat Top Compressor Station and pipeline project in Carbon County. • $13 million to WE Soda for the Westvaco Natural Gas Upgrade project in Sweetwater County.

The Energy Dominance Fund, established by the Wyoming Legislature, is authorized to provide up to $105 million in loans and grants to support state energy projects. These awards serve as matching funds to leverage additional private and government investment. The fund is financed by severance tax revenue from energy extraction industries such as coal, oil, and natural gas.

Additionally, the Authority has recommended a grant of approximately $969,243 from the Energy Matching Funds program to Arcadia Minerals for a project in partnership with Meta Critical Minerals.
