Wyoming provides legal disposal sites for big game carcasses

In Wyoming, hunters are reminded of the legal requirements for disposing of big game carcasses. It is illegal to place animal remains along roadsides, in residential trash cans, or into water sources.

If an animal is field dressed and debone, it is legal to leave the remains in the area where the animal was killed. For those who transport remains for processing, the state provides various authorized disposal sites.

Available locations include the Casper landfill on Station Road, the Glenrock dumpster on Mormon Canyon Road, and the Douglas Transfer Station. Other regional options include landfills and transfer stations in Cheyenne, Laramie, Rock Springs, Sheridan, and several other counties across the state.
