Wyoming Republican Secretary of State Primary Candidates Emphasize Election Integrity and Business Regulation

Common Sense Republicans for Wyoming released a voter guide endorsing several Republican candidates for the 2026 Wyoming primary, including Eric Barlow for governor and a slate of state legislative hopefuls. The group will host an event on July 16 in Natrona County to meet candidates and discuss funding for schools, law enforcement, health care and infrastructure.

At a candidate forum on July 15 in Laramie, four Republican contenders for Wyoming secretary of state – Qwenton Eagle Oviatt, Robert Short, CJ Young and Rep. Rachel Williams – outlined their priorities. Oviatt stressed securing elections and protecting businesses from fraud, Short said business regulation would take precedence over election oversight, and Young highlighted his experience as a former elections director. The primary is set for Aug. 18, with the Republican winner to face Democrat Bryan McCarty in the November general election.
