Wyoming restaurant owner seeks help identifying family after $130 dine-and-dash

Zoey Aldahash, owner of Sweet Zoey Mediterranean in Casper, Wyoming, has turned to social media to identify a family of four who allegedly fled without paying a $130 bill. According to Aldahash, the group consumed appetizers, drinks, main courses, and desserts before simultaneously exiting the restaurant and running to their vehicle.

Aldahash stated she chose not to contact law enforcement immediately because a previous attempt to involve the police regarding a different dine-and-dash incident in 2024 yielded no results. She shared surveillance footage of the group on Facebook, noting that as a small business, the loss of labor and ingredients is significant.

The decision to post the images online has sparked local debate. While some community members offered to help cover the unpaid tab, others criticized the use of public shaming, particularly as the group appeared to include teenagers. Rebekah Ladd of the Casper Police Department cautioned businesses against using social media for such investigations, noting the risk of misidentification, harassment, or false accusations involving juveniles.
