Wyoming Sheep and Wool Festival set for July 31–August 1 in Powell
The Wyoming Sheep and Wool Festival will take place Friday, July 31, through Saturday, August 1, at the Park County Fairgrounds in Powell, Wyoming. Organized by the Wyoming Wool Growers Association in partnership with the University of Wyoming Extension and the Wyoming Wool Initiative, the free, two‑day event offers educational workshops, a sheepdog trial, vendor fair, art show, cooking demonstrations and a dinner honoring donors and producers. Highlights include a self‑guided sheep‑trail tour, targeted‑grazing workshops in the Shoshone National Forest, and a lamb‑cooking demo by UW meat scientist Cody Gifford. The festival aims to showcase the state's sheep industry and provide activities for all ages.
