X-Men ’97 Season 2 premieres on Disney+ with new clip, time‑hopping plot and Apocalypse threat
Disney+ will launch the second season of the animated series X-Men ’97 on July 1, 2026. A newly released 13‑second clip gives the first look at the team facing a new, menacing foe.
Season 2 continues the story after the first‑season finale, with the mutant team scattered across Ancient Egypt, the present day and a distant future by the villain Apocalypse. New mutants—including Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, Havok, Psylocke, Archangel and others—join the roster, while the fallout from Gambit’s death weighs on Rogue.
The production retains most of the original creative staff. Executive producers include Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Larry Houston and Eric & Julia Lewald. The first season attracted four million views worldwide within five days, the biggest launch for a Disney+ animated series since What If…?.
A recent promotional clip also shows Morph transforming into Thor, echoing earlier cameo tricks and hinting at further Marvel‑Universe cross‑overs.
