X-Men actors to reprise roles in Avengers: Doomsday

Several actors are set to reprise iconic X-Men roles in the upcoming Marvel Studios film, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.

Actor Alan Cumming revealed that his character, Nightcrawler, will feature a new look including grey hair and a new costume equipped with two swords. This marks his return to the role after nearly two decades. Other confirmed returning cast members include Channing Tatum as Gambit, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique.

To coincide with the character's cinematic return, Marvel Entertainment released a detailed retrospective on YouTube covering the 35-year history of Gambit, detailing his origins in Marvel Comics and his abilities to control kinetic energy.
