X-Sense develops new Matter-compatible smart home base station

X-Sense is developing a new smart home base station, designated as the SBS0A, which has appeared in the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) database. The new model is certified to support the Matter 1.5 standard, which will allow X-Sense security devices to integrate with major smart home ecosystems including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant.

While the current SBS50 base station lacks Matter and Apple Home support, the SBS0A is expected to act as a Matter bridge. The station will connect to home networks via Wi-Fi and use separate radio frequencies (868 MHz or 915 MHz) to communicate with connected devices such as smoke, carbon monoxide, and water detectors. The device is expected to be available in black and white, though specific technical details regarding device capacity and official pricing have not yet been released. An official announcement may occur at the IFA electronics trade show.
