X suspends Libertarian Party of New Hampshire account

The X account for the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire (LPNH) has been suspended following a series of posts that allegedly called for the assassination of Democratic elected officials. The suspension occurred one day after New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte sent a letter to X’s safety team requesting the removal of the account, citing violations of content policies regarding threats against House Democratic Leader Alexis Simpson and other officials.

Jeremy Kauffman, the chair of LPNH, criticized the move as political censorship and expressed disappointment that X appeared to cave to government pressure. Kauffman also posted rhetoric on his personal account regarding the suspension and the Democratic Party.

The LPNH is no longer the official affiliate of the Libertarian Party in New Hampshire; the Libertarian National Committee disaffiliated the group in May after it endorsed Donald Trump instead of the party's presidential candidate. The Granite State Libertarian Party has since been designated as the state's official affiliate.
