Xa Phin village features traditional Dao stilt houses with mossy roofs
Located in the Thanh Thuy commune of Tuyen Quang province in northeastern Vietnam, the village of Xa Phin is distinguished by its traditional Dao ethnic architecture. Situated at the foot of the Tay Con Linh mountain range, the village features houses built on stilts with roofs made of palm leaves.
Over time, a thick layer of green moss has grown across these palm leaf roofs, allowing the structures to blend into the lush, mountainous landscape. The mossy rooftops create a unique visual characteristic that integrates the traditional dwellings with the surrounding forest vegetation.
