Chelsea targets Barcelona duo Koundé and De Jong in €120m move

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly targeting a double transfer from Barcelona during the January window. The proposed move involves securing Jules Koundé and Frenkie de Jong for a combined fee estimated between €120 million and €130 million.

Koundé is viewed as a primary target to bolster the defense, particularly following injury concerns regarding Reece James. Reports suggest Barcelona may value the French defender at approximately €50 million to €55 million. De Jong is also being considered to provide midfield control following the summer departure of Enzo Fernández, though his availability remains uncertain due to a knee injury.

Separately, Alonso addressed the fitness of striker Emmanuel Emegha, describing him as a ‘very special’ player. Emegha has faced ongoing setbacks with a hamstring injury but is expected to return to training soon. Additionally, captain Reece James is sidelined for up to three months following knee surgery.
