Xabi Alonso reacts to Chelsea's dramatic 4-3 win over Brighton

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso expressed satisfaction following a dramatic 4-3 victory over Brighton, though he cautioned that his team still has a long way to go. Despite establishing a commanding 3-0 lead through strong offensive play, Chelsea allowed Brighton to mount a comeback, prompting Alonso to emphasize the need for tactical and psychological improvements.

Alonso noted that while the team has secured two wins in two matches, they struggled to maintain ball possession and control after their initial surge. He highlighted the importance of remaining vigilant even when holding a significant advantage, citing a missed opportunity by Cole Palmer in the second half. The manager stated that the squad is still in an early stage of cohesive development and requires further analysis to address defensive inconsistencies.
