Xacobeo 2027 Commission Launched to Unlock Fiscal Incentives for Galician Businesses

Spain's central government and several autonomous regions have created the Inter‑administrative Commission for the Holy Year Xacobeo 2027. The body, chaired by Galicia's tourism director Xosé Merelles and Xacobeo commissioner Marcos Gómez Román, will coordinate the event's support programme, approve activity plans, certify spending and manage the official logo and usage guidelines.

The commission's first meeting confirmed its role in unlocking fiscal incentives for companies that collaborate with the pilgrimage celebration. Merelles said the new organ “finally unlocks the application of fiscal incentives,” while Gómez Román noted that many Galician firms had been waiting for this step and are now ready to contribute to the Xacobeo programme.
