xAI launches Grok add‑ins for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

xAI announced that its AI assistant Grok is now available as free Microsoft 365 add‑ins for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The add‑ins, downloadable from the Microsoft Marketplace, add a sidebar where users can converse with Grok to generate drafts, rewrite text, improve grammar, analyse spreadsheet data, create charts and automatically generate slides. Grok can also pull information from the web, X (formerly Twitter), email, SharePoint and Google Drive to incorporate into documents. The rollout was publicised on 19 June 2026 and applies to the Office suite globally.

The integration aims to streamline document creation and data analysis by leveraging generative AI directly within familiar Office applications.
