xAI launches Grok Voice 3.0 for automated customer service
xAI has announced the release of Grok Voice 3.0, a speech-to-speech AI model designed for natural, low-latency voice interactions. The model features response times of less than one second and can handle interruptions, background noise, and various accents across more than 25 languages.
SpaceX is already utilizing this technology within its Starlink customer service operations. The AI handles approximately 20,000 inquiries per day, successfully resolving about 70% of cases—roughly 14,000 calls—without human intervention. These automated tasks include identity verification, hardware troubleshooting, processing refunds or credits, and managing replacement equipment shipments.
Additionally, the technology is integrated into Tesla vehicles, where it processes millions of daily voice interactions to assist drivers with tasks such as checking schedules, replying to emails, and making reservations. Developers can access the technology through the Grok Voice API.
