xAI launches Grok Voice 3.0 speech-to-speech AI model

xAI has released Grok Voice 3.0, a new speech-to-speech AI model designed for real-time conversational agents. Available via the Voice Agent API, the model maintains the previous version's pricing of $0.08 per minute ($4.80 per hour). Developers using the ‘grok-voice-latest’ alias are automatically transitioned to the new version.

According to the Artificial Analysis Speech-to-Speech Index, Grok Voice 3.0 achieved a score of 86.9, placing it ahead of OpenAI’s GPT-Live-1 (83.2) and Google’s Gemini 3.8 Live (82.6). The model demonstrates high task success rates and improved handling of interruptions and pauses, with latency reported at under one second.

The technology is already being deployed in large-scale practical applications. Starlink utilizes the model for its call centers, handling approximately 20,000 daily inquiries with a reported 70% autonomous resolution rate. Additionally, the model supports millions of daily voice interactions within Tesla vehicles, assisting drivers with tasks such as managing calendars, messages, and vehicle settings.
