xAI releases free Grok add‑on for Google Workspace

xAI has launched a free add‑on that embeds its Grok AI assistant directly into Google Workspace applications—Docs, Sheets, and Slides. The integration, available through the Google Workspace Marketplace, allows users to generate text, refine documents, explain spreadsheet formulas, analyse data and create presentation content without leaving the apps. It runs on the latest Grok 4.5 model and supports both basic free use and optional subscription‑based advanced features.

The release follows a similar rollout of Grok add‑ins for Microsoft 365 that debuted a week earlier, completing coverage of the two dominant office‑suite ecosystems. By offering AI‑powered assistance across both platforms, xAI aims to compete with Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini, positioning Grok as a cross‑platform productivity tool for both individual and enterprise users.
