Elon Musk's xAI Grok to produce AI Odyssey film and adds Office integrations
Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk announced that xAI’s generative AI tool Grok Imagine will create a full‑length, historically accurate adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey before the end of the year. The claim follows months of Musk’s criticism of Christopher Nolan’s recent Odyssey release, especially the casting of Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy and Elliot Page as Sinon. Musk also suggested he might fund a second, very different version of the epic.
At the same time, xAI is expanding Grok’s productivity features. It launched a free Microsoft Excel add‑in that lets Grok assist with formulas, charts and analysis, and a Google Workspace add‑on for Docs, Sheets and Slides that can write formulas, draft content and generate presentations. The company also previewed upcoming model upgrades – Grok 4.6, a 2‑trillion‑parameter model slated for release in two weeks, followed by Grok 4.7 a further two weeks later – and integrated Exa’s semantic web‑search API into Grok Build for agentic web queries.
