The issue primarily affected users accessing Grok Lite via the standalone Grok.com web portal, while the version integrated into the X platform reportedly continued to function normally.

The malfunction occurred during server updates as xAI deployed a new foundation model intended to improve speed and reduce hardware demands. xAI described the incident as an “isolated generation error” and noted that underlying services remained operational.
