Mexican municipalities expand police training and school safety initiatives

The municipal government of Xalapa presented a progress report on its police professionalization plan, detailing new training courses such as initial proximity policing, conflict‑resolution, disability assistance, and suicide prevention. Recruitments are underway, with 80 candidates evaluated and 40 expected to join the force.

In Dosquebradas, the mayor launched the second semester of the “Schools and Safe Environments” program, which has already reached more than 7,100 students through 24 preventive interventions.
