Xalapa and Ciudad Victoria launch water supply repair initiatives

The municipal water commission in Xalapa (Veracruz) is repairing leaks on Mercurio Street in Cerro Colorado and Hortensia Street in Estibadores, while temporary service suspensions affect neighborhoods in the Federal Zone Alta and several nearby colonies due to turbidity at the Medio Pixquiac and Socoyolapan reservoirs. Free water tankers are being delivered to affected residents, and complaints can be filed via WhatsApp or phone.

In Ciudad Victoria (Tamaulipas), Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez said his administration is supervising works in high‑lying neighborhoods with limited pipe access, using temporary tankers and adjusted water‑distribution schedules. A second aqueduct line is slated for inauguration in July, and the city is also addressing street‑light outages, garbage‑collection challenges, and an upcoming pavement‑and‑pothole repair program.

Both cities are taking interim measures while longer‑term infrastructure upgrades progress.
