Xalapa authorities arrest three in connection with child's death
Authorities in Xalapa, Veracruz, have arrested three individuals in connection with the disappearance and death of a four-year-old child. The victim, identified as Daniel Maximiliano Rojas Suárez, was reported missing on September 13, 2026.
Following the report, the Fiscalía General del Estado activated search protocols, including video surveillance analysis and telephone line tracking. After conducting three authorized searches of various properties, the child's body was located on September 15, 2026, inside a residence in the Benito Juárez neighborhood.
The three suspects arrested in flagrante are identified as Gilberto “N”, Ana Susana “N”, and Fernanda “N”. They are being investigated for qualified intentional homicide and disappearance committed by private individuals. The detainees, who include the child's stepfather, his mother, and his sister, will be presented before a judge to determine their legal status.
