Xalapa municipal government implements various administrative and social reforms
The Xalapa municipal government, led by Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos, has enacted several measures to update local administration and social services. The City Council approved reforms to the Municipal Public Administration and Economic Development regulations to incorporate inclusive language and improve the operation of the Municipal Slaughterhouse, aiming for future TIF certification.
In social policy, municipal agencies and transparency coordinators have been integrated into the Municipal System for Equality between Women and Men to strengthen gender equity and violence prevention. Additionally, the Municipal Commission for Drinking Water and Sanitation (CMAS) approved modifications to its 2026 Investment Program, adding three new infrastructure projects involving sewage, water networks, and a retaining wall.
Furthermore, the local government is conducting training for Social Control Committees to ensure transparency in the execution of nearly 500 million pesos allocated for over 100 public works projects.
