Xalapa flooding death: Family reaches reparatory agreement

The family of Joselyn Flores Hernández, a 20-year-old worker who died during a flood in Xalapa, has reached a reparatory agreement with the involved parties. Veracruz Attorney General Lisbeth Aurelia Jiménez Aguirre confirmed the settlement, noting it is a legal mechanism used to address such cases.

Flores Hernández died after becoming trapped inside the Híper San Bruno commercial establishment during heavy rains that caused significant flooding in the capital of Veracruz. Following the incident, the family had requested an investigation into whether criminal conduct occurred, specifically regarding allegations that workers were not permitted to leave the premises despite the weather conditions. The Attorney General stated that the institution acted in accordance with the law and respected the rights of the victims.
