The Xalapa municipal government announced that it has issued 809 fines to citizens who placed trash on the streets outside the scheduled collection times. Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos presented the figures during the "Día del Pueblo" program, stating that the penalties are part of efforts to improve order and cleanliness in the Veracruz state capital.

The same program recorded 1,732 citizen requests, including 830 related to public works such as pavement, drainage, water supply, retaining walls, stairs, sidewalks, sports fields, schools and green areas. The municipality also handled 550 water‑service inquiries, 209 urban‑development petitions and 184 lighting requests, and has completed over 7,000 lighting repairs overall. To date, 18 major public‑works projects have been finished, 62 parks and green spaces rehabilitated, and 29 sports courts rebuilt, with additional works slated to start in the coming days.
