Xalapa celebrates 70 years of its Municipal Palace

The City Council of Xalapa, Veracruz, celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Palacio Municipal, which was inaugurated on August 13, 1956. During a solemn session led by Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos, the event honored the building's architectural significance and its role as a historical witness to the city's evolution.

The commemoration included a parade of former mayors and recognition for municipal employees with long-standing careers, some exceeding 50 years of service. Cultural activities featured the Xalapa Municipal Orchestra performing works by various composers in the building's central courtyard.

In separate local news, the Xalapa Council also approved a reform to the Animal Welfare and Protection Regulations. This update empowers Animal Surveillance Brigades to act immediately and apply sanctions for animal cruelty, while establishing permanent vaccination and sterilization campaigns to manage the street animal population.
