XAMPP releases version 8.2.0 with PHP 8.2.0 updates

Apache Friends has released XAMPP version 8.2.0, which includes updates for Windows, Linux, and OS X. The new release features PHP 8.2.0, Apache 2.4.54, MariaDB 5.4.27, and phpMyAdmin 5.2.0. Notably, PHP 7.4.x has reached end-of-life status. For macOS users, the native installer provides x86_64 binaries compatible with the Rosetta environment on M1 and M2 ARM architecture, though the XAMPP VM is no longer supported on ARM.

Technical guides for macOS Sonoma users indicate that setting up XAMPP to serve files from a local user folder requires disabling the pre-installed macOS Apache server via Terminal and configuring the 'userDir' setting within the Apache configuration file (httpd.conf).
