Xanadoo technology attraction proposed for Pontypool

Proponents of Xanadoo, a proposed hands-on museum and technology attraction, have held a public meeting in Pontypool to discuss its potential to revitalize South Wales. The project is being developed by Gaynor Coley, a co-founder of the Eden Project, and business partner Susan Hill.

The concept includes a gallery for technological innovations, a problem-solving adventure area, and a market. Supporters, including the Pontypool Task Force, suggest the attraction could serve as a solution for economic challenges facing the region.

Xanadoo has identified the Grade II*-listed former British Nylon Spinners factory at Mamhilad Park as its preferred location. However, the site owners, Johnsey Estates, currently intend to develop the area for housing. Developers have suggested that the factory could potentially host the attraction alongside new housing developments.
