Xanthi Old Town Festival begins with 5,000 attendees

The 35th annual Xanthi Old Town Festival commenced on August 30, drawing an initial crowd of over 5,000 spectators to the Metropolis Square central stage. The opening night featured a sold-out performance by Eleonora Zouganeli.

The festival includes a diverse program featuring prominent Greek musical artists, including Grigoris Bithikotsis, Nina Mazani, Natasa Bofiliou, and Marina Spanou. In addition to major concerts, the event highlights local talent through a 'Youth Scene' dedicated to Xanthi's music schools and local bands.

More than 35 cultural associations are participating, setting up stalls throughout the Old Town's alleys to offer live music, traditional celebrations, and local flavors. Alongside the cultural festivities, the inaugural Honey Festival was launched by the Xanthi Beekeeping Association to promote local honey production and raise awareness about the ecological importance of bees.
