Xanthi to host book launch celebrating Greek football legends

A new book by journalist and author Kostas Bliatkas, titled ‘The General and the Cannoneer - The Short and the Tall. The Greatness of Friendship’, will be presented in Xanthi on September 5. The work chronicles the nearly 60-year friendship between Mimis Domazos and Antonis Antoniadis, two iconic figures in Greek football.

The friendship began in 1968 on Alexandras Avenue in Athens. The book explores their lives and shared journey from their early years to their professional success. The presentation at the Old Town Hall of Xanthi will feature former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis, along with football figures Rouli Papaioannou, Maki Tzatzos, and Vassilis Torosidis. Antonis Antoniadis, who was born in Petrochori, Xanthi, will also participate in the panel.
