Xavi Hernández appointed manager of Netherlands national team

Nigel de Jong, the technical director of the KNVB, revealed that Xavi was the third choice for the role, following Pep Guardiola and Arne Slot, both of whom declined the position. Xavi, who replaces Ronald Koeman, remains unfazed by his ranking in the selection process.
His tenure will begin with a Nations League match against Germany on September 24, a challenge he described as a significant motivator.
