Xavi Hernández in Talks to Coach Saudi Club Al‑Ahli

Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández, 46, who has been without a club since leaving Barcelona in June 2024, is being pursued by Saudi Arabian side Al‑Ahli for the upcoming summer transfer window. Al‑Ahli's sporting director Rui Pedro confirmed that the club is prioritising Xavi alongside Vítor Pereira and Nuno Espírito Santo to replace Matthias Jaissle, who resigned after three seasons. Because Xavi is a free agent, Al‑Ahli would not need to pay a compensation fee to another club. Al‑Ahli finished second in the Saudi league last season and aim to retain domestic titles and sustain their continental success. Xavi previously managed Qatar’s Al‑Sadd, winning seven trophies, giving him familiarity with Middle‑East football environments.
