Xavi Pascual addresses departure from FC Barcelona

Xavi Pascual, the current coach of Dubai Basketball, has addressed his controversial departure from FC Barcelona. In an interview with Catalunya Ràdio, Pascual described his exit as a multifactorial issue and declined to assign blame to any specific party.

Pascual clarified that financial incentives were not the reason for his departure, noting that he had rejected higher-paying offers to return to Barcelona and would not have accepted his current contract if money were his primary motivation. He emphasized that his relationship with club president Joan Laporta remains strong and intact.

Reflecting on his second stint with the club, Pascual mentioned discussing the complexities of returning to a former team with Pep Guardiola. He expressed that while he felt a responsibility to help the club during a delicate period, he eventually realized it was no longer the right time or place for him to lead.
