Xavi Puebla returns with new film ‘Femenino, singular’
Filmmaker Xavi Puebla returns to directing with his new film, ‘Femenino, singular’, marking his first feature project in 14 years since ‘A puerta fría’. In an interview, Puebla discussed the lengthy production delays, noting that the script was written in 2016 and took several years to secure both a producer and financing.
The film follows Nayeli, a young Mexican woman working as a domestic worker in Barcelona. Portrayed by actress Vico Escorcia, the character navigates the social and personal challenges inherent in her situation. The narrative is noted for its subtle approach to social drama, exploring themes of vulnerability and the complexities of motherhood, with a supporting performance by Nora Navas.
