Xavi Rabaseda signs with SD Espanyol Cornellà

Veteran basketball player Xavi Rabaseda has officially signed with SD Espanyol Cornellà to compete in the Tercera FEB, the fourth tier of Spanish basketball. The 37-year-old small forward returns to active competition following a brief hiatus after serving as captain for Surne Bilbao in the Liga Endesa.

Rabaseda’s move is considered a high-profile signing for the Catalan club, which aims to leverage his elite experience, defensive skills, and leadership to strengthen its competitive project. The transfer is also a symbolic homecoming, as Rabaseda underwent his formative training at CB Cornellà between 2007 and 2009.

His professional career includes significant achievements at the highest levels of European basketball. He has won the EuroLeague and Liga Endesa with FC Barcelona, two consecutive Basketball Champions League titles with Hereda San Pablo Burgos, and a FIBA Europe Cup with Bilbao. Additionally, he was a member of the Spanish national team that won the World Cup in 2019.
