Xavi Simons nears faster return from ACL injury
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Xavi Simons is progressing faster than expected in his recovery from an ACL injury sustained in April. While initial projections suggested the 23-year-old would remain sidelined until early 2027, Simons has recently shared updates from an intensive rehabilitation camp in the United States.
Simons has been training outdoors and utilizing professional facilities, including those used by the Baltimore Ravens and Boston Bruins. Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe noted there is ‘a quiet confidence’ within the club that the Dutch international will return to action ahead of his original schedule.
The injury occurred during a match against Wolves early in Roberto De Zerbi’s tenure. His recovery comes amid other fitness concerns for the squad, including injuries to Pedro Porro and Jan Paul van Hecke.
