Xavier Pérez named president of The Car Of The Year jury

Xavier Pérez, the motor director of Prensa Ibérica, has been appointed as the new president of the The Car Of The Year (COTY) jury. Pérez succeeds Soren Rasmussen in an official ceremony held in Tannisby, Denmark.

This appointment marks the first time in over 60 years that a Spaniard has held the presidency of the prestigious European award. The COTY jury is composed of 65 journalists representing 25 different countries.

Pérez will serve in the role until the general assembly takes place at the end of this year. This assembly will coincide with the testing of the seven finalist models for the 2027 edition. The final list of candidates is expected to be announced on October 30, with the ultimate winner to be revealed at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2027.
