Xàbia residents evacuated following Saladar wildfire

A fire broke out in the Saladar area of Xàbia, near the Arenal urban center, causing emergency services to evacuate residents and nearby facilities. The blaze, fueled by dry reeds and scrubland, was pushed by wind toward apartment buildings in the Segon Muntanyar area.

Local police, the Civil Guard, and firefighters from Dénia, along with Civil Protection and volunteer firefighters, responded to the scene. Due to the timing of the fire, aerial support was limited, but ground crews worked to contain the flames near the Camí de les Moreres. The incident has become a recurring seasonal issue for the Saladar wetland area.
