Xbox announces Gears of War: E-Day exclusive release for Oct 6 2026

At the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft confirmed that the next installment of the Gears of War franchise, titled “E‑Day,” will launch on 6 October 2026. The title will be exclusive to Xbox consoles and Windows PC and will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass.

To reduce confusion about platform decisions, Xbox is adding an “EXCLUSIVE” label to its console UI. The label first appears next to Gears of War: E‑Day and signals that the game will not be released on competing platforms such as PlayStation 5. CEO Asha Sharma and content chief Matt Booty said the marker will help clarify which future titles are exclusive while multiplayer service games will remain cross‑platform.
