Xbox CCO says The Elder Scrolls 6 looks amazing and will be announced at the right time
Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty told Variety that after visiting Bethesda and seeing gameplay, The Elder Scrolls VI is "coming along well" and looks "amazing." He said the studio plans to reveal the game when it can be shown at its best, noting the difficulty of balancing early excitement with waiting for the right moment. Bethesda has refocused on the Elder Scrolls series after the mixed receptions of Fallout 76 and Starfield, and a large portion of the studio and partners are now working on the title. Todd Howard, Bethesda’s director, has repeatedly warned that the sequel is still a long way off, but confirmed the team has reached a major internal milestone and will continue to take time to ensure quality.
Fans have been waiting eight years since the game’s 2018 announcement, and both Booty and Howard emphasized that the delay is intended to deliver a product that meets expectations rather than a rushed release.
