Xbox CEO Asha Sharma vows exclusivity push and fast‑tracks Bethesda franchises

Xbox chief executive Asha Sharma announced that exclusive games and services are essential for the platform’s success, saying, “For a platform to succeed we need exclusive content and services.” She said the company will reevaluate its non‑exclusivity approach and prioritize titles that attract a broad audience while delivering unique experiences.

Sharma also outlined a plan to accelerate development of Microsoft‑owned Bethesda franchises such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Halo, citing long gaps since the last major releases. The strategy includes substantial financial investment approved by CEO Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood, and a possible corporate restructuring that could spin Xbox off as an independent subsidiary to increase agility.
