Xbox chief Asha Sharma says platform must have exclusive content

In a Bloomberg Tech livestream, new Xbox head Asha Sharma highlighted a strong start to her tenure, noting that Xbox metrics have risen, more units were shipped in the past 100 days than in the previous year, and Game Pass has returned to growth after an eight‑month decline. She said the next 100 days will focus on resetting the business, revisiting investment priorities and operational changes to sustain growth. When asked about exclusives, Sharma stated, "To be a platform, you must have exclusive content and services," indicating that Xbox may pursue exclusive titles again despite Microsoft’s recent comment that exclusives won’t be discussed at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. The remarks suggest a strategic shift toward restoring exclusive content as part of Xbox’s platform vision.
