Xbox introduces Mythic Achievements for PC and consoles

Microsoft has introduced Mythic Achievements to the Xbox ecosystem, a new reward system designed to recognize players who complete all original achievements within a specific title. The feature is currently in a testing phase available to members of the Xbox Insider program on both PC and consoles.

Similar to trophy systems on competing platforms, Mythic status is granted upon completing a game's base achievements. To prevent frustration for completionists, any achievements added later through downloadable content (DLC) or updates are labeled as “add-ons” and are not required to earn the Mythic designation. Once achieved, the status remains a permanent part of the user's profile.

The rollout includes significant retroactive support. Microsoft confirmed that the system will scan user histories dating back to the launch of the Xbox 360 in 2005, automatically awarding Mythic status to eligible games players have already completed. Additionally, a new Gaming tab has been integrated into Xbox profiles to help users track their achievements, completed games, and progress toward Gamerscore goals.
